Benedict to star in Iraq war drama Yellow Birds

The story centers around two soldiers, a 21-year-old and a teenager, who meet in boot camp on the eve of their deployment in Iraq. The older soldier, bound by a promise to the teen’s mother to guide her son, takes the private under his wing, but soon finds that promise hard to keep as they navigate a war where casual atrocity is a daily occurrence.
