Variety announced today that Benedict Cumberbatch has been attached to star in Blood Mountain.
The Afghan-based thriller follows a young army ranger whose team is ambushed and killed in Pakistan, forcing him to personally escort the world’s most wanted terrorist over dangerous terrain in order to bring him to justice. While being hunted by both of their enemies, they must find a way to work together in order to survive. The film will be directed by Sergei Bodrov (a twice Oscar nominated Russian director) with a script by Jonathan W Stokes which featured on the Black List in 2011.
The film is searching for financing and is due to start shooting in Morocco in April.
